Saint Valentines Day in Andalucia

Don’t know what to do with your partner on Valentines Day in Andalucia? 💘

Take advantage of the fact that this year it falls on a Friday and surprise your date with an unforgettable plan in the most beautiful land in Spain: Andalucia. 💚🤍

Experience the authentic Andalusian vibe by choosing one of the following plans I’ve suggested for each province.

1. Why Celebrate Saint Valentines Day in Andalucia?

Valentines Day is the perfect excuse to escape routine and indulge in a romantic getaway.

And what better place to celebrate love than Andalucia, a region overflowing with charm, passion, and breathtaking landscapes?

From its sun-kissed coastlines to its historic cities, Andalusia offers countless ways to make your Valentines Day unforgettable.

Valentines Day in Andalucia

A Land of Romance and Passion

Andalucia is synonymous with passion. As the birthplace of flamenco, a dance and music style that embodies deep emotion, the region exudes romance at every corner. Whether you’re strolling through the narrow streets of Seville’s old town, watching a mesmerizing flamenco show in Granada, or sharing tapas in a candlelit bodega in Málaga, love is in the air.

Breathtaking Landscapes for Every Couple

No matter your style as a couple, Andalucia has the perfect setting for you. Nature lovers can enjoy a sunset walk along the pristine beaches of Cádiz or embark on a scenic hike in the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you’re drawn to history and culture, you can explore the Alhambra in Granada or wander through the whitewashed villages of Ronda. Seeking relaxation? The luxurious Arab baths in Córdoba or Seville’s thermal spas provide the perfect romantic retreat.

Gastronomic Delights to Share

Food and romance go hand in hand, and Andalucia’s culinary scene is the perfect way to bond with your partner. Share a plate of fresh seafood at a beachfront chiringuito, toast with a glass of local sherry wine in Jerez, or indulge in decadent churros with chocolate in a traditional café. Andalucia’s rich and diverse cuisine guarantees a sensory experience that will delight both your heart and palate.

2. Andalusian Expressions to Express Love

Andalusians are known for their warmth, passion, and lively way of speaking. When it comes to expressing love, they don’t hold back!

Te quiero un huevo / una jartá / una pechá – Funny and casual ways to say I love you a lot. The first one might sound strange (literally I love you an egg), but in Andalusia, un huevo is slang for a lot.
Estar engabelado/a – An expression commonly used in the Málaga village of Alameda. In some parts of Spain people might not understand it at first, but the meaning will become clear from the context.
Mi arma – This is a classic expression, and it actually comes from mi alma (meaning my soul), but in Andalusian Spanish, the l sometimes changes to an r, a characteristic feature of the local accent.
